RIP George Carlin

Another poignant reminder of my own mortality as an icon of my youth shuffles off this mortal coil.

George taught me about life.
He taught me how to deal with stupidity.
Part of who I am today is because of George.
May he rest in peace…
Because of George I learned that it was okay to mock the stupid. In fact, it was encouraged. I also learned to question authority and find answers through reason, not just through what people told us to believe. Most important though, he made me laugh.
Rest in Peace George, I will delete you from my address book in about two weeks. Though I may not empty the trash for another month or so.
Amen, brothers and sisters. Carlin was not just a fine comedian, bu a thinking comedian. I’m going to miss him.
