Technology Bytes is moving back to it’s old time slot of 8-10 pm. We had been moved to the 7-9 pm slot for awhile but it was just not the same so I lobbied for our old slot and they finally gave it to us. The change takes effect Wednesday April 19th.

This is part of a station-wide programming revamp. Many shows are moving. The new program schedule is online at the KPFT website and can be downloaded in PDF format directly from this link.

In other Tech Bytes house-keeping news; Groovehouse has been doing an awesome job as the new phone screener, following in the footsteps of the original Phone Girl, Leslie the Phone Girl, Phone Boy and David. And beyond that he has become the official photo-chronicler of Tech Bytes at the studio and at our events. You can check out his work in the on-air gallery of geekradio.com.

As I was riding in the elevator today a group of co-workers were discussing Fainting Goats.
I had never heard of them before so when I got back to my desk I did some research.

Yup, they exist. They are also referred to as Myotonic, Tennessee Fainting, Nervous, Stiff Legged and Scare goats. apparently they have a genetic condition called myotonia congenita, a condition in which the muscle cells experience prolonged contraction when the goat is startled.

The actual degree of stiffness may vary widely from goat to goat and is based on a number of factors, including age, species purity, and degree of fright.

There is even an International Fainting Goat Association.

What a glorious weekend, weather-wise (and otherwise as well).
Cynthia and I took the opportunity to work in the yard today.
We bought a water feature. Yea, too much Ground Force on BBC America.

We built a small area we hope will be attractive to birds. If nothing else, it sure makes that corner of the backyard really pleasant.
